JE Motors formed in Coventry by engine builder John Eales

1978

JE Motors produce their first modified 3.5 Rover V8

1980

JE Motors develop and produce the first 3.9 Rover V8

1982

JE develop 4.2 Rover V8. Popular upgrade in Range Rover / Rover SD1

1985

This continues through 1986 & 1987 with not a single engine failure……quite an achievement.

JE build competition Rover V8s for Land Rover Paris Dakar entry.

1987

JE further develop Rover V8 to 4.5 L

1987

Marcus Mantula launched with JE V8 engine

1988

JE launch Range Rover ‘Dakar’ upgrade package to commemorate Paris Dakar success.

1988

Land Rover purchase design rights for 4.2 V8 for forthcoming Range Rover LSE

1989

JE launch Land Rover Discovery ‘Dakar’ performance upgrades.

1989

JE produce Metro 8R4 conversion

1991

JE Motors become JE Engineering

1992

JE fit the first V8 engine to a Westfield sports car

1992

Spen King CBE, the ‘father of the Range Rover’ joins JE as technical director

1993

Larger 5.0 engine added to ‘Dakar’ range

1994

JE powered drag racer becomes fastest Rover V8 with standing quarter mile time of 9.48sec

1994

JE develop first performance diesel upgrade for 300 TDi engine

1995

JE become the first company to tune the new Range Rover GEMS management system

1996

JE develop ride, handling & braking modifications for the Range Rover P38 range

1996

JE move to new purpose built premises in Siskin Drive

1996

JE launch their famous S-Car, a 335 Bhp supercharged version on the 4.6 Range Rover P38

1998

JE launch a range of performance upgrades for the new Freelander 1

1998

JE further develop Rover V8 into 4.9 ‘Dakar’ spec

1999

JE lead the way with power upgrades for the new TD5 engine in Defender & Discovery 2

2000

JE are first to a develop full performance upgrade package for Defender range

2002

JE develop performance upgrades for the new Range Rover L322 petrol & diesel models

2002

JE purchase trading name Warwick 4×4 and take on a number of their staff

2003

JE develop the ultimate 5.0 Thor version of the famous Rover V8.

2005

JE launch performance upgrade programme for new 4.2 Supercharged AJV8 engine

2006

JE build a number of 5.0 V8 Automatic Defender’s for specialist armoured fleets abroad

2007

JE develop stand alone electronic control of ZF Auto Transmission –Begin offering on Defender

2008

JE introduce their first Super Defender, the 450 Bhp Supercharged Zulu.

2009

JE begin serious restoration programme on Range Rover Classics inc. Ex Prince Charles 2 door

2010

JE celebrate 35 years with the JE35 Defender model featuring a 320 Bhp 4.4 AJV8 engine

2011

JE develop the first TDV6 Defender engine conversion with the 245 Bhp Twin Turbo ‘Saluki’

2012

JE re-introduce the ‘Dakar’ model name on their new bespoke Range Rover Evoque

2013

JE build a Defender ‘Zulu’ Mini Monster truck with a 10 inch lift and 460 Bhp V8

2014

JE develop and launch 3.2 TDS conversion with 6 speed Auto, a first for Defender

2015

JE announces a new name and brand look, JE MotorWorks along with 3 sub brands Re-Imagines by JE, Engineered by JE and Styles by JE along with an all new website

2015

To celebrate their 40th year JE launches the their ultimate Defender, the new Zulu2 which will be built to a strictly limited run of 25 cars and packs a JE developed 4.7 Supercharged V8 producing 475 Bhp and over 650NM torque all fed to the 4 wheels through a new 6 speed Auto gearbox
